July 4th plans???

Look at me--the big post whore today!  Can you tell I'm avoiding cleaning the house????

So who's doing something cool for the holiday weekend???

Us.. we're going to a housewarming party and then having a few people over for dessert and watching the fireworks from our back deck.  Love seeing the rockets' red glare in the shadow of America's Mountain!  <Saluting the flag!>

Not that cool really but we are having a little cookout and combo first b-day party for Mr. T (his bday is the 1st).  Mostly just family with an extra family or two thrown in.

  • You post whore! JK! Smile

We are packing the car and heading to the Outer Banks, NC for the week in our rented house right on the beach.  We will also be enjoying the "rockets red glare" from the deck, hopefully with a drink in hand.

    Counting down the days...

  • I am hoping to convince the husband to go to my brother's house for the weekend.  He just got back from 4-H camp and he is worn out.

  • Well, I had planned to make tamales, but my masa harina/corn husk supplier closed!  Nooo!

It was more for Canada Day than the 4th anyway.  I'll get the 4th next year.  :)

  • I get those days too especially when I am bored.

I wish we were doing something but most likely just staying home, going out to breakfast to our favorite place, taking Sienna for a walk in the park. BORING!!

  • On the actual 4th we'll be helping my parents with some stuff around the house and we'll have a cookout there.

But on the 3rd... we're going to a MOVIE!  First one since Avatar. My aunt is babysitting.  We're going to see Toy Story 3.  Yep, a "kids" movie. But, IMO, Pixar is for adults. I'm stoked.

And I just found out that I'm off on Monday (I knew DH is) so, weather permitting, we'll go to the Turtleback Zoo. I hope Aaron enjoys it.

  • Most of the city stuff around here is happening on the 5th, but we are doing a bbq on the 4th and our own fireworks!

The big area parade goes right in front of MiL's house so we will go there for the 5th.

    JEALOUS!

We are going to a BBQ at my sisters during the day where Sydney will take her first dip in her pool :)  Later that night, fireworks off the beach in our town. I HOPE she likes them and doesn't freak out. She has the CUTEST blue dress with red and white stars and the biggest red bow!

  • BBQ at friend's, a trip to the zoo for the three of us, hopefully some quiet down time, and fireworks fri-mon nights (we leave on the 23rd floor and can see most of the displays around the area - very fun).
