Is there a car mirror that you can buy that faces the rear facing car seat? I want to be able to look into my rear view mirror while driving and see the baby through the mirror facing her... does that make sense? I was looking in BRU and didn't see anything like this. Does anyone have something like this and what store did you find it in?
Re: Baby Facing Car Mirror?
They have an Eddie Bauer one at Target that I have for Emily. I couldn't use one with Abby because her infant carrier was installed in the middle, which is safest. However, the back is so high then that it was impossible to put any kind of mirror where I could see her. There's no center headrest in my rear seats either. Emily is in my rear passenger side with Abby behind me.
I have the soft one like this (replacing with a better image, you can see why it doesn't work in the center)

The ones on a plastic stalk scare me because they could be a projectile in an MVC.
any mirror that straps on to the head rest should fit the bill. Mine is a monkey.I got mine at usa baby. I think buybuybaby has them too.
BRU has several. We have the older version of this (jungle theme is the only difference). I love it! I bought a monkey one from Target for our other car and it sucked compared to this one.. its was a blurry, distorted view. I can see Camy perfectly in this one and have remote-control music to cheer her up if needed. It has a clip that attaches it to the top anchor point so it won't fly in an accident.

hmm, my monkey one isn't distorted. It ties on to the head rest and is nice and secure
My monkey one didn't look like that one.. different mirror.

instead of straining to see baby through rearview, this might be helpful. You can angle it so you see the mirror facing your baby. Then when baby faces forward you would just use this one.

That is very cool. I had one and took it out after I went to one of the car seat check events. The safety technicians there all said the mirrors are a hazard because they become projectiles in an accident and often shatter. They also said it is distracting to look at baby while driving. (Though you'd hope parents would only do it while stopped.)
We had one of these for each car. It is super secure and I never had any concerns about it coming off in an accident.

It attaches on either side and can be angled so that you can see the baby in the middle.
I have this that reflects the one on the headrest...it is blurry and vibrates when I drive. I had a hard time tilting my mirror on the headrest to see in my rearview when L was in the infant seat. Now that he is in the convertible it is easier.
