Ditto....in order to make sure i remember to take it I have set an alarm on my cellphone. LOL!! But aside from that, it is a good choice if you are BFing and don't want an IUD.
I started it at 7 weeks pp and have had NO side effects. I also have troubles remembering to take it though and it relies on you taking it consistently at the same time every day.
Pros: its really the only choice besides IUD or condoms for BFing moms. And IUD and condoms just weren't what I wanted. No major side effects
Cons: You can not be late taking it. I set an alarm on my cell phone too. I had some cramping and moodiness when I first started taking it but that was it.
Re: Mini Pill?
I started it at about 7 weeks post partum.
Pros- not too many side effects.
Cons- having to remember to take it every day, the pill lowers my sex drive
the mini pill is an ultra low dose hormone pill for breastfeeding mothers.
the minute you start weaning, you have to go back to the regular pill because the low dose is less reliable.
I've taken 3 packs so far.
