I found 3 giant containers of Johnson's baby powder that were part of a shower gift from MIL bc I'm sure that's what she used back in the day.
I know it's not recommended to shake baby powder on infants because of the inhalation risk but is there something about it I'm missing? I've never really had a use for the stuff at all and it seems messy but I don't really want to toss it yet if it's handy for something. What is it good for?
Re: baby powder
I have never used it either...what is it supposed to do - soak up moisture or something?
Yes, I know in girls using it on the genitals can increase the risk of cancer. I believe ovarian cancer? Not sure about boys.
ETA: Sorry didn't read your actual question well. The only thing my mom used it for growing up was to powder our swim caps for the swim team. So they didn't stick and pull our hair when putting them on. People buy it also to put on their feet if they have sweaty feet and obese people often use it in their skin folds to keep from getting an infection like athelets foot during the summer time when they sweat more.
I will never look at baby powder in a good way after this post..LOL..
I never found a use for it on the baby though.. I think some people put it on the baby's bottoms after a bath or something to absorb moisture.. but diapers are so absorbant.. I don't really get the point.

ahahaha.....me either! I used to use on myself....when I worked security and wore polyester uniforms. Oh boy, they sucked on a hot summer day! A little powder under the boobs worked wonders! lol
