so i just go my ergo from babysteals and I have the insert as DS is 9 weeks and probably 11-12 pounds. I put him in it and he seemed to be uncomfortable because he couldnt really see i think. His head was inbetween my collar bone and chest. His feet looked squashed but they cant wrap around obivously.
Im thinking of just taking the insert back and giving it a go again when he can really hold his head up. He can hold it up decently but he flops still.
I really would like to use it now but Im not sure how to go about getting him comfy.
any tips are appreciated. ![]()
Re: Ergo question
We didn't use it until DS was 6 months but I do want to say something about the head and neck. It is really, really important to have neck support. A lot of people think their babies can hold their heads up and don't realize that they can only do it for a few minutes here and there. Then they try to wear them for extended periods of time. It can be quite dangerous.
At the age you are working with I wouldn't try to go without neck assistance. I wish I had a leg suggestion for you but we didn't use it at that age just because we used the Moby. GL!
I should have written that better.
I wouldn't put him in it without great head and neck control. I mean I would just wait to use till he gets to that point.
Wait, if you're using it with the insert, both his feet should go to one side, not splayed to wrap around. Are they coming out on one side, and is that why you're saying they look squashed? I angle LO so that her lower body is pointing sideways (therefore more comfortable on the feet) and then she does a half-twist for her upper body so that she's not fully facing against my chest, but sorta resting her cheek against my chest and her shoulders are almost aligned with mine but not quite (still at an angle).
