I want a double stroller

I still don't know what to do...

I can't WAIT to get rid of the Graco Snugride Travel System.. it is so big and bulky.

We have a jogging stroller, and we have an umbrella stroller (which I just noticed on the tag that it says up to 40lbs).

My toddler is approx 37lbs btw..

DH doesn't want to get a double stroller, he says our 3yo can walk (which is true), but I think we could do more with a double stroller..  I know most of you guys don't have two kids but any thoughts?  I would love a double jogging (like a BOB), but that is expensive and large.. so I wouldn't mind a sit n stand (but that also seems kind of cramped).  It's a big purchase so I always talk myself out of it.

Re: I want a double stroller

  • My sister gave me her sit and stand - I haven't used it b/c Evan is still too little...but she used it aaaaaaalllll the time. I'd go test one out at BRU.

  • I have three double strollers.  And it never fails that when we take a single stroller, Ty gets tired and wants in the stroller.  A double is nice if you are doing a lot of walking.  I wish I had a sit'n'stand.  If I were purchasing a new double, that is what I would have bought.  I have a nice, sturdy jogger but it is HUGE even folded.  I also have a duoglider, which is front and back, but it is a pain to steer and you cannot make it back heavy, so if you have one kid in it, she needs to be in the front.  But my toddler is usually not in it, so I have to switch the baby if he wants to get in and he wouldn't want to ride in the back any way.  Then I have a Peg Pegerio Aria Twin side by side.  It is super light weight and folds nice and flat, BUT it steers like an umbrella stroller.  My DH just thinks it is awkward to push and hates it.

The problem with side by sides are that the kids can fight!  My kids rarely fight, but will fight in the side by sides.  Brianna always wants whatever Tyler has and he can't move away from her reaching hands.

NOTE- I paid less than $50 for all three strollers, combined.

  • We're in the same boat.  I want one, dh doesn't think we need one, which is ridiculous. It's not easy to take a 2 year old a 6 month old out by yourself without one.  I'm definitely going to get one though.  I just need to research them first.

  • I highly recommend the Baby Jogger city select...

DH and I are on a tight budget but after doing lots of stroller research discovered this one and fell in love. Now that we have it is even better.

It is a single stroller that can be converted to a double. then back top a single.

We lucked out and got it for a steal new on Ebay.

However if I had to pay full price I would buy it again in heartbeat.

Well worth the expensive price tag.

I was looking at this one also.  How does it fold?  Is it a pain?
