2nd Trimester

Hey has anyone tried the PF Changs @ home dinners?

Just curious if they are worth the $9 a bag? If you have which one did you try? And how many did the bag feed? It says "meal for 2" but I think that means me and LO.

  • I was thinking the same thing. I'm reluctant to buy because of the price and there's noway one bag is feeding me and DH, let alone, me, DH and DD!

  • I'm not sure it'd taste anything like the real deal so I just wouldn't buy it.
  • I don't know about that specific brand (but now I'm excited to try it out, thanks to you!), but most of those other meal-in-a-bag deals aren't enough for one serving each for me and DH. We're always starving afterward!

  • I've never seen them. I bet they are loaded with sodium and not at all what my feet and ankles need.  But, I bet they're good.   I do buy a couple different bags from Whole Foods and Trader Joes and they definitely feed both of us.  Not sure on the size, but that's all I have for ya.  LOL
  • We don't have a PF's close to us so I was thinking if I could find a similar replacement it would be nice. I dont mind the price every once and a while if they taste good. I know I would need 2 bags, I just hate to drop $20 on something that is going to SUCK ha-ha.
  • The beef and broccoli isn't bad... but honestly, if you are going to pay $20 bucks, in mho you mine as well get chinese from a rest. for $25 :)
  • We tried one. It was fine but nothing like a real meal from PF Chang's (or its sister restaurant Pei Wei). IMO it wasn't any better than the other meal-in-a-bag entrees we usually get, which are mostly cheaper than the Chang's brand. If they lowered the price a bit, I'd buy one again but I didn't think it was worth what they're charging.

    Sorry to disappoint. Sad

Ah, thanks for letting us know. Guess I will not be trying that out! On the other hand, Wanchai brand makes really good boxed meals that feed 4. Way cheaper and of course, you provide the chicken but I was impressed with the sauces and seasonings included! They do frozen too, but I haven't tried those.

  • NO!! I am glad you guys were honest! I would have been pixxed if I would have gotten them and they were no bueno! SO THANKS!!!
  • It was ok.. We had the Orange Chicken. We really need two bags or we should have added rice with it.
  • We had the beef and broccoli last week. There was plenty for 2 people, at least for my DH and I, and it actually tasted really good. The sauce it makes is delicious. We'll buy it again.

  • I have a book called "Top Secret Restaurant Recipies" and there are several PF Changs recipies in there, we've made the lettuce wraps for a couple of work potlucks and even though they aren't the same thing it's still pretty good. It isn't as quick and easy but you can control the amount of sodium a little better.

  • I purchased the shrimp lo mein and beef and broccoli. To me they both tasted good. Not as good as eating there but it will do. I don't think the serving is enoough for 2. I can eat close to the entire meal alone.
