PP food? As in hospital food? With DD, I got a meal sent up right away. Luckily, it included mashed potatoes and gravy...I had GD so I couldn't indulge. It was heaven!
This time? I'm forcing DH to go get some donuts (again have GD). I know, not the healthiest thing, but I've been craving them SOOOOO badly.
Turkey and cheese. It kills me to make DH's sandwiches every day!
This exactly- I told DH yesterday that my first request for anyone visiting me in the hospital is to pick me up a deli sandwich.... and NOT from the hospital cafeteria! I can't wait!!
I have pretty much eaten whatever I want this entire pregnancy just in moderation. I will have a bag of snacks ready for after delivery. Afterwards if the baby comes in the evening DH can bring me sushi. If the baby comes in the morning DH can go to the French bakery...
While I've been lucky with my GD and can eat a lot of things some can't, there are a few I have to avoid like the plauge.
I WANT DONUTS!!!! And a big Pepsi. As soon as I get the ok that my blood sugar numbers are good. My doctor and husband have been informed and both think it's hilarious, LOL.
Our first dinner out I will be going to a new mexican place here in town that I have avoided because I wanted to wait till I can have a margarita....mmmmmm yummyyyy...
rare roast beef sandwich with basil cream cheese spread and provolone cheese on bone bread... DH is sending someone for one as soon as possible after the LO arrives.
This local place called Sub Shop. They have the best subs ever and the most amazing sweet tea. It's right down the street from the hospital so I'm definitely sending someone on a run for it for me.
I told my husband that we will stop on the way home from the hospital to pick up my favorite sushi roll from my favorite sushi joint. He thinks I'm kidding.
The hospital is close to our favorite sushi place and I put in a request to DH to have him pick it up for us during my hospital stay. Besides that I just can't wait to have a drink every now and then. I don't like to get wasted but when everyone else is having a margarita on a hot day I would like to join in...

We celebrate every special occasion with a little bubbly. This event will be no different.
I expect that I will probably want lean protein to aid my body's recovery-- just like recovery from marathons. Maybe a grilled chicken salad with granny smith apples, walnuts, and goat cheese or blue cheese.
Love, luck, and prayers to my BFPB Dr. SnowflakeBride
There's pretty much nothing I really enjoy that I haven't been able to have. I LURV wine, but I've had about 3 half glasses since I entered 3rd tri (1 per week) and that helps me not miss it so much (I would typically have 2 glasses a night not-pregnant).
I still eat deli meat whenever I want. I don't care for sushi or most fish so that's not an issue. I still drink a soda whenever I want and I have coffee every day (usually several cups of half caf, but sometimes 1-2 cups full caf).
With my past 2 deliveries as soon as I was cleared to eat again I ordered huge meals in my room.. First time I remember getting comfort food like chicken strips, mac n cheese, fruit, chick noodle soup, etc. 2nd time was early morning so I ordered a HUGE breakfast (pancakes, bacon, sausage, danish, etc.).

Does it have to be PP food?! lol A beer or a glass of wine or a mixed drink of some kind! Mmmm :-) Can't wait!
PPD/PPA Mom...it has been super hard, but I'm making it! Slow steps... Mom to Carter (6), and Calianne (1). Proud VBAC, natural birth, breastfeeding, cloth diapering momma!
I have GD this time around (as well as my last pregnancy).....So I am sure there will be lots of things of my list. LOL! but a HUGE oreo shake keeps popping into my head. ooo, and a cold Pepsi with lime YUMMY. and now that I read the other posts, a big donut (a maple bar from this local shop) sounds absoultely wonderful!
Well techniclly I could have it now, but as a celebration for finally having this baby my mom is bringing me a steak from Outback & a Peach Chik-fil-a shake!

Subway turkey and ham, I know lots of people eat deli meat, but I stayed away and DH will be getting me one while I am in the hospital!
Once home - sushi! And a cold beer, glass of wine, rum and coke...I am planning to breastfeed so alcoholic beverages will be limited but I will still enjoy them!

This. I'll probably bring a bottle of wine to the hospital with me and see if they'll let us open it. Also, a really nice big salad with chicken and a French baguette on the side sounds awesome. I haven't really stopped eating anything (still eating sushi), I just eat in moderation. Pizza always sounds good to me, but I think my body is going to need protein and healthy stuff since it will be so depleted, so I'll probably go the big salad route as well.

Hmmmm, good question.... After my first labor I had my mom pick up Culvers on the way into town. A big burger and onion rings sounded soooo good.
With my second, she was born at 1a so I had to wait for breakfast which I loaded up on - waffles, muffins, sausage, bacon
We'll have to see what I'm craving this time. Jimmy John's pops into my head though

wine and lots of it.
ETA-a cold sandwich and a coke is a typical lunch for me at this point.

A coke and a hot dog would be amazing.
Would also love to indulge in some sushi right about now.

Sushi - specifically Tuna...raw or seared from a great steakhouse!
Hot dog! Our home depot makes this one that is deep fried with a few strips of bacon wrapped around it....so good.
Though, I have warned DH that I will be eating a hot dog on 4th of July wether she is here or not...he thinks I'm kidding...
Either:
Sushi and Wine
or
Dos XX and a Steak cooked medium
I might even eat them while laying on my stomach. lol
This all the way! And along with the beer I'd like a really fruity drink or mimosa. And wine. lol, wow, I'm not a drunk or anything!!
