3rd Trimester

If you are using a PnP as a bassinet

are you using a snugglenest or anything else on top of the 'mattress?' I know baby mattresses are supposed to be firm, but the floor of this thing is as stiff as a board! Am I missing something? I was always under the impression that the PnP had an actual mattress...

I'm not using anything.  Just the hard mattress.  LOL...
  • Loading the player...
  • My DD did fine without anything in the PnP so I didn't et anything else to go inside... I will get something though if DS seems to be uncomfortable

  • So do y'all have sheets to go over this mattress? I see now that the cover does not come off and is spot clean only. Yeah, I can see that working awesomely with the first diaper blowout.

  • They make sheets for them.

  • I'm going to put a waterproof mattress pad on first to prevent blow outs and protect the bassinet. Then I'm using these sheets on top; they are soft enough and not paper thin like ones specifically made for the Graco pnp. Also, I bought these quilted sheets and did not like them at all. They didn't fit snug and I felt it was a hazard b/c it was too puffy. Then finally I'm using a sheet saver on top of the sheet.

I know it probably sounds like a lot but I did a bit of research and this seems to be the best combination... And I'm doing the same for the crib.

  • All I am using is a sheet on the existing mattress. It's actually a pretty easy cleanup that way.

  • We're just using one of the sheets and nothing else. It really isn't too much different than a firm crib mattress.

    Ella is finally here!

  • I put a blanket under DS but it didn't matter, he hated it anyway.

  • We're going with the quilted sheet followed by a sheet saver followed by a regular sheet followed by a sheet saver followed by a sleep positioner followed by LO.

haha np! I'm assuming you're using a Graco pnp? I have this one and it really helped to try the sheets/covers before taking the tags off. I had to return some b/c they didn't fit right...  GL!

Yep, we have a Graco PnP in Little Wonders. I don't know why, but I thought there was like a miniature crib mattress in there with sheets and everything! Glad we set it up now and not any later! We measured and everything you suggested should fit so I ordered the pad and two sets of the sheets :)

  • Just using the "mattress" with a thin sheet over it.  I have the Chicco and there are actual boards in the mattress to make it firm.  I don't think it is that bad.
