It's that time of the year again ladies ... that crappy weekend that happens when Oklahoma opens up wide, and dumps what feels like half of it's population on the DFW metroplex.

I am, of course, talking about TX - OU weekend. A football game so crazy that the school's had to find a neutral location so there wouldn't be mass chaos on one of their pristine campuses. So instead, they picked the halfway point ... my backyard ... to allow all this chaos to occur.

The Red River Shootout not only rains party goers all over the DFW area, but more importantly, the Cotton Bowl is in our fair grounds. So unless you want to battle your way through 90,000 + Honghorn/Sooner IDIOTS, the state fair is completely off limits for this weekend as well. And oh goody, it's a holiday weekend too ... so that means Friday - Monday fair-going is not an option. Asses.

 DH just texted me from work to let me know it's already started at the mall he works at. I plan on hibernating in my house untill Monday evening. UGH.

    DH is going to have to take back roads to work on Saturday. He normally takes 30, but that is going to be a parking lot.

    Whew, already been to the fair and have gotten it out of our system for the year.

    Wonder what everyone is going to do in downtown Dallas now that Deep Ellum sucks?  Not sure if the West End has a lot of stuff - I'm not in the habit of going downtown anymore.  :)

    College Footbal ... University of Texas vs. University of Oklahoma ... they call it the 'Red River Shootout' because the Red River devides the two states. They have the annual football game here in DFW because the rivalry is so crazy ... 'neutral' ground.

    well one could argue a more neutral place would be, say Massachusetts.  Or Hawaii.

    Neutral ground my patootie - these people STILL go farking ape_shit.  ;)  It's worse than when the Packers play the Cowboys here, or the Red Wings play the Stars.  I used to live just south of White Rock Lake and always tried to stay north of 635 over this weekend.  Gah.  Football lunatics.

    We are supposed to go Uptown Sat night for a friend's birthday. How long will it take to find a parking spot? 2 hours maybe?

    Ooof, it depends on where you're going in Uptown - there's not a lot of parking anywhere except for that parking garage, but I'm sure it's going to be packed on Saturday.  Going early is a good idea though - there are a lot of stores to browse, especially Border's!  :D
