This might be a stupid question, but is there a reason why putting the crib in the center of the nursery room is a bad idea?
My mom gave me such a strange look when I told her that's what I planned to do that I thought maybe there's something wrong with it.
I am only planning to do that because we have very little wall space in our nursery. On one wall, there's a closet and a door to the room. On the other wall, there's a window with some wall space, but I need to put the dresser/changing area there. On the other wall is a window with no usable wall space and on the last wall, there is a fireplace and door.
Re: Crib in the center of the room?
Nope, not a bad idea. We did this with DS's room. My mom made a comment that the baby won't feel as secure if not next to a wall, but AFAIK, that is ungrounded. DS slept just great like that for more than 2 years.
You can see pics of his nursery here (sorry not clicky):

I even have an explanation as to my thinking at the time (although it's all a blur now!).
i read somewhere that it's good to put it in the center of room because it gives the baby different angles and views to look at.
i actually was thinking of doing this as well since 2 walls have windows, one has a wall length closet, and the free wall is joined by the bathroom wall (someone mentioned not putting the crib against a shared bathroom wall because it can wake the baby up each time it's used).
when i told my mom she looked at me like i had 8 heads. at this exact moment it's against the wall but i still may move it to the center once i get my rocker, etc... and see how i'm going to set up the room.

I LOVE your bedding. Is it all numbers? Where did you get it?
My bedding? It's a set from Dwell Studio, but sadly I believe it's been discontinued. I got it about 3 years ago now. I do love it, though. It's all letters and numbers.
You might want to check on ebay. You never know!
