Abdominals split at 28 weeks
I can see the split anytime I am trying to get up from a sitting position. Anyone else have this issue? Did you just do the exercises afterwards or did you have surgery to repair it? I still have a way to go so it is only going to get worse.

You might be able to see a trainer who specializes in prenatal exercise to help you. I see you live in Houston, so there must be at least one gym that has a prenatal fitness program. Also, I don't think you need surgery to fix it after the baby comes. I think you just have to hold your abs together while doing ab exercises. Again, a trainer can help you with that. I am/was (I am 40w2d) in a prenatal exercise program and it was definitely some of the best pregnancy money I spent. I am a casual exerciser and it still made 1000x difference in how I feel now.
I have it too, starting from around the same time (25 weeks or so). My doctor told me that almost all pregnant women have at least some separation while they're pregnant and tend to heal on their own after delivery. Apparently you only have to worry about surgical correction if you still have a lot of separation after you've healed pp. I hope what she told me is true because I definitely have some anxiety about my sad, stretched abdominal muscles
I've also heard that using an abdominal binder and consistently doing specific abdominal exercises pp can really speed up the natural healing process.
Me too! I've heard that Dr Phil's book You, Having a Baby gives great exercises and tips for afterwards. I havent gotten the book yet, and am trying not to worry about my abs until after I deliver. Nothing we can do about them now. But I want my abs back too!
