At our 6 month appt, our pedi told us that we need to start sleep training. UGH! So we started this past weekend. ?We thought we'd try a combo of Ferber's CIO and Healthy Sleep Habits.
On Sat night, at 6:30p we made sure she had a clean diaper, fed, and given ibuprofen (we think she's teething). She cried pretty solidly for 90 minutes, we'd go in about every 5-10 minutes to rub her back and tell her she's OK. ?I think she finally passed out and woke up at 12p and 4am. ?Each night wake-up, she cried for about 10 minutes and then fell asleep
Sunday night, same put-to-bed routine with about 60-70 minutes of pretty solid crying and tossing and turning. ?Again up at 11:30p and 4a. ?Again, each night wake-up, she cried for about 10 minutes and then fell asleep. ?
Anybody else having issues of the initial "going to bed"? ?All the books say like 3 nights and the crying should go down significantly. ?We're still at the same amount of time. ?ARUGH!!!?
It totally breaks my heart hearing her cry solidly for like an hour... ?![]()
Re: Going to sleep issues!
I think she is teething so I wouldnt do sleep training now. Does she have any teeth? When my DS was teething he slept like that waking up couple times a night. She cried alot. Especially if she is in pain from her teeth. Maybe wait a week and see if the teething gets better?
