My parents are in town for the weekend. Today, they talked me into taking Jack to Toy Story 3 in 3D. It was around his normal long-nap time, he'd just eaten and been changed, etc... So, I figured, what the hay.
After about an hour of fighting his nap while being held, Jack gets himself turned around enough to see the screen. He immediately begins talking to it. Instead of sitting in the front, near the exit, like I had wanted to, my folks sat us wayyyyy up in the back. So, I had to walk down a ton of stairs, holding my wriggling, talking baby. Then, we get to the bathroom, and there are no changing tables. None at all. I put his changing pad on the bathroom counter, changed him, took his clothes off (he was warm) and played with him. I went back into the theater and before we even got to the seats he was at it again.
I ended up missing the last 40 minutes. So, the good part. Lol. Oh well, I'm sure we'll get it when it comes out (big Disney fans in this house) and we minimized the effect he would have on other patrons. We went to a 2 o'clock show, so there were a ton of kids there yelling at the screen; I doubt Jack would have made a difference, but it made me nervous, and I'd rather be safe than sorry.
At least now we know not to take him to the movies. ![]()

Re: Toy Story 3 = Fail.
OSB and there was only like 5 views! You're getting good!
You're braver than I am. There's no way I would try to bring DS to a movie. The ending was pretty sad, and I thought it was more of an adult movie than kids one.
Proud Mama to Mickey (12.03.09) and Nemo (06.06.13)
Lol, right? I am such a super star.
I didn't really want to go. But, it was that, or hang out in the hotel room with my parents for those 2 hours. Or go shopping, which would make my dad grumpy. So, we went to a movie instead. I wish we hadn't, since I was so paranoid about ruining someone else's show (even though, as I said, there were tons of kids there yelling and talking) but, what can ya do?
For this particular show (3D) it was $8 a ticket. For a regular show it would be less.
Back home, it is less than that.
You need to get a sitter for Jack so you and Bun can go back and watch it again.
Movie is so good!
We were going to go to a movie today, while my parents watched Jack. Instead, Bun had to work early this morning, so he napped all afternoon, and then we went out to dinner (all 5 of us) tonight. : I think I would have preferred to go on a date.
I haven't been to a "movie theater" movie in forever. We go to the drive in a lot. Then Mel can walk around when she gets antsy and it doesn't bother anyone. Plus I can take the portable swing for Gigi and she is good to go.
We saw Toy Story 3 last Monday and it was great.
(I loved the part about him talking to the screen.)
