Thoughts on Luke?

Luke has never been on my list, but recently it has started to grow on me, and now it might even be my favorite name for a boy.

I'm thinking maybe Luke Robert (Robert after DH's dad and my grandfather) if this baby is a boy.

What do you think? Do you know many Lukes (i.e. is it getting popular)?

I've always loved Luke. The only ones I know are in their 20's or 30's. It seems classic, but not overused at all.

I love Luke/Lucas. I love Luke Robert. It's a nice name. I never thought Lucas/ Luke was that popular until after I named Lucas. It's not super popular but I've seen quite a few bumpies using the name. Personally, other than my Luke, I don't know anyone with the name.

Hmm.. in almost 10 years, I've never taught a Luke or Lucas.

On the SSA list for 2009, Lucas is 39 and Luke 48.

Luke Robert is a great name! I only know one Luke and he is in his mid-20s. I know one Lucas, he is almost 2 years old. I'm involved in a large playgroup and have never come across either of these names in the newborns I've met. So it isn't very popular here.

I love that name too! We would never use it only because my 2 year old nephew's name is Luke.

I love the name. I know a couple of Lucas's in real life, but no Luke's. Luke was my dog's name, though

My oldest is Lucas/Luke. You can obviously get the Lucas Mucas and Luke Puke name calling, but he is a teenager now and really didn't get too much of that. (All names can be picked on anyway)

I love his name because it has grown up so well with him. It's perfect for little boys, professional men and Grandpa Luke sounds good too.

LOVE Luke, it's also one of our picks. DH is a huge star wars fan and thinks it's the most "noble name ever". LOL.

I love the name Luke. It would be a top contender for us but dh's cousin's wife has a son named Lucas and his bff (also his cousin) is named Lucas and that is too many in our family for us. Still may make the middle name cut in honor of his bff though.
