1st Trimester

I think this pg will be hard to hide!

I've already turned down drinks a couple of times (and got wierd looks) and sandwiches yesterday (avoiding lunchmeat)!

Family visited from out of town and we went out to dinner Wed nite. All the adults got wine and beer...I stuck w/ water. We were all together again last night and DH got me a beer which I pretended to drink. And every Sunday we have dinner w/ my fam and my mom and I always have a couple glasses of wine w/ dinner. I just know she's gonna catch on after a couple weeks go by, you can only use the 'I'm on antibiotics' excuse for so long!

Oh well, we'll see if I can hold out till 12 weeks!

  • For me it has been the lunch meat. My boss and I used to trade weeks and get stuff to make lunch at work so we save money. Very often we'd go for sandwiches. This week she brought a boat load of ham and cheese and I had to cook at night so I could bring leftovers so she wouldn't notice I wasn't eating the deli meats.

Good luck clearing the 12 weeks unnoticed!

  • I plan on pretending to drink for the fourth of july. I hope i can pull it off! Luckily i really don't drink much anyway so i don't think it will raise too many red flags for people until i'm ready to tell. Good luck hiding it until you are ready!!

  • Yeah, I went to a wine tasting bridal shower at around 6 weeks. I love wine and have often tried to get a group together to go wine tasting and here I am saying, "Oh, none for me, thanks! I have a cold." Riiiight. The bride and her mom totally guessed and the mom even tried to call me out on it, but my other coworker was totally surprised when I fessed up at 11 weeks.

Just do your best and don't lose any sleep over it. If someone tries to call you out, just say, " When I have news I want to share, I'll let you know."

    I really like this advice.

  • Good luck. My mom was at the hospital when the lady told me. Then my dad figured it out 2 weeks later.

You know I always thought that if they were going to give you sensitive information like that the would clear the room and just tell you. I mean geesh.. I had a giddy old lady in the room while i was going WTH!!

This kinda won't work for us. I had a miscarriage and d&c last month so were suppossed to be waiting.....but oops! Still if anyone tries to call me out I could just say that I want to do everything right to be as healthy as I can be for when I get pregnant again, hehe  :)

If I refused wine at a wine tasting my friends would totally know!! They know how much I love my wine. But I will def just deny it if anyone asks....

  • I think it's harder to keep the secret when you are on subsequent pregnancies.  I told my parents immeadiatly and some close friends and family after my u/s but I really wanted to keep it from everyone else until 12 weeks.  By 9 weeks pretty much everyone had figured it out plus my tummy popped out, so I had to tell!
