At what age can they be work with the legs wrapped around you, instead of froggy-legged? I feel like we might be ready for this but I don't want to hurt him by doing it too soon. He is just so crazy LONG that in the Ergo or Babyhawk, with the froggy legs, his top half is basically out of the carrier and I have to use a free hand to kind of keep him from flopping. (He has awesome head/neck control, but I'm still uncomfortable at how much of him is out of the carrier).
Re: Babywearing Q - graduating from froggy legs?
I think it partially depends on the size of the baby. If you feel like he's comfortable with his legs out and wrapped around you then I'd try it. I think it was around 4 months that C indicated she wanted her legs out, and we never really went back. And C is on the small side (She just broke 15 lbs at 7 months).
She was wiggling a lot on a walk in the moby...then one leg popped out and the wiggling stopped for a few minutes, then started up again as she tried to get the other leg out. Once I helped her get her other leg un-froggied she was happy as a clam again.
We do Lainey.
