We had a little g2g tonight at MelissaSue's house and we got to talking. What are the reasons people don't come to g2gs? Is it standard stuff like, schedule/babysitter or do people have other reasons. I just think it's strange that there are people that are super active posters that I've never met.

Mine is work. I have gone to some (Roc) gtgs, but a lot of them are while I am at work. I have every Friday off and occasional Wednesdays off. So if I am off I would love to come!

The couples/family ones DH wouldn't want to do bc he thinks it is weird that I have internet friends Stick out tongue

I would love to come to all of them, I love you girls, but week nights are always really tough for me. I work all day and DH stay home with T, so night time is my only time with her, and DH usually goes and does stuff he needs to do and can't do when he's with her. I think it we could do more weekend gtg's and also more with the kiddos then I might be able to come more!

Yes, this too for evenings bc of DH being SAH. I do a girls night once a month (nothing crazy just dinner and drinks) and he complains a bit about that. He is not upset I am going out, just upset he is staying in kwim?

Scheduling is tough for us. We are a 1 car family and DH works out of town on weekends so we either go with him or stay home with no car.

I seriously plan on coming to a g2g, soon! The evening/baby-free ones are tough. DH works late M & T nights. Thurs he has a 2nd "job"- he plays out (guitar) at a bar from 6:30-10. So, those 3 nights are out... and W is the only weeknight we have as a family to eat dinner together. Weekends we are always busy (not that there seem to be many g2g on weekends)

Next time you girls do a daytime playdate I really want to come! Evan needs some friends. The last couple I wanted to, but for one reason or another it didn't work w/ our schedule. Typically I am free anytime during the week, except Wed afternoons (we go to Rolly Pollies)

Hey, at least we've met, and you know I exist You never know... someone on the board could really be a creepy 50 year old man, posing as a mom! kidding, but it makes you think.... you always hear stories about people living double lives online. Is everyone on the board who they claim to be?!

Well...I have a more juicy excuse and I could write a book...but basically I had a stalker once and still haven't gotten over it I guess. I don't think any of you are stalkers but I am so, so leary now with the babies. I already write more about my life than I should sometimes. I don't like announcing where I am going to be and when. My husband doesn't really know about it because he would keep us locked inside and take away my precious computer (this was before we met)

I'd like to go to one someday, though. I don't have many friends left in the area and have very little adult contact besides DH and it's starting to wear on me a little. And obv I'd love kiddo play dates too.

Oh - and I'm not a creepy old man

i can promise that we are not creepy old men. at least not the regular girls. I think we all felt a little nervous the first time we ever met. Husbands were worried. we can always do the zoo that way it is very open and if you don't want to meet us once you see us you can just walk away.

but once you meet us you'll see we are just a fun group of girls that like wine, chocolate, cheese, and our kids

I know that I am pretty hit and miss on the GTG's. I really enjoy coming and wish that I could make more.

I will be honest, sometimes it is a little uncomfortable. I know that if I came to more that feeling would go away. The "regulars" have a great connection and sometimes I feel a little on the outside (this might be leftover hs insecurities and I know that).

This is also a really hard time financially for us and while I would love to come to restaurants it feels like a kick in the gut to only order water, adding to my insecurities.

Oh, no! I didn't mean you girls were creepy old men! I was thinking more the "anonymous" posters. And I really don't think anyone on the board is anyway!

Most of you are my FB friends too, so I know you're real!

And yes, we should totally do a zoo gtg. We have a membership, and I keep saying I want to try and take E once a week, but we've only made it twice this year!

First of all, I live in Rochester and there doesn't seem to be too many gtg's here. But in all honesty, I am pretty shy until you get to know me, so I think it would be hard for me to meet up with people I've never met IRL. It sounds ridiculous though as I sort of feel like I know a lot of you. It would be easier for me if I knew a nestie IRL that I could go with to a gtg. You all seem so down to earth so it's silly, I know.

I actually was just thinking the other day that I feel like I "know" you. I really think you'd fit in really well at our buffalo GTGs. Its too bad you gotta go and live in Rochester.
