Breastfeeding

Minimum times a day for a 10 week old?

Does anyone know or have a guess of how many times at the least I should be feeding per day to 1) keep supply up and 2) keep baby full and healthy?  I know this is probably something that just varies by person and baby, but LO is starting to sleep longer during naps and STTN so I don't know if I should be waking him to get in enough feedings.

Re: Minimum times a day for a 10 week old?

  • Since he is already 2 months old, I don't see any reason to wake him for feedings. As long as he is having enough wet diapers and he is gaining weight, I wouldn't worry. FWIW, both my LO's still nursed every 2 hours at that age. If you feed on demand, you really shouldn't have any issues with supply and keeping up with your LO. HTH!
