My husband and I are both Irish and we have a very Irish last name but I feel like all of the Irish names have become really trendy... can you ladies reccomend any- for either gender???
My favorite are Dillon (obviously), Declan, Colin, Seamus and the good old standby, Sean
For girls: Fiona, Brigit, Maeve
A lot of years and a million tears finally led me to you.
After 7 years trying to concieve, 3 failed IUIs and 2 failed IVFs, my third IVF was a success!
My Christmas baby turned into a turkey bird! Dillon Richard was born at 34 weeks, 5 days on November 28, 2009 after 10 weeks on bedrest for preeclampsia.

Thanks you ladies. I like fiona and Braden from these lists.... we'll see what DH says
Braden is what we have named this LO. Braden Michael. I know the name is somewhat popular right now, but I love it because of the Irish origin. People have been spelling it Brayden. I thought about spelling it that way, but it didn't cut it for me. Braden means "salmon" and derives from the salmon of wisdom...i.e. the legend of Fionn Mac Cool. It's pretty sweet!
My husband was totally into the Irish names, too, because he is half Irish. We had Fiona on our list for a while, but it's become trendy lately too - and I think of Shrek when I hear it. I know DH also found Reagan on the Irish list.
One of my best friends from HS has had 3 children all with Irish names - and she was ahead of the Declan craze. So they are Declan and Nolan for the boys and Campbell for the girl.

Just looked through an Irish baby name list and here is my complete list of suggestions:
Girls: Alana, Brianna, Cianna, Kiera, Kaitlyn, Kalin (pronounced kay -lynn), Kyla (awesome meaning - means beautiful and implies "a beauty that only poetry can capture"), Norah or Nora, and Regan (Reagan)
Boys: I like Aiden, but it is just WAY too popular. Braden, Brendan, Brian, Colin, Connor, Declan, Dylan, Finn, Liam, and Riley
Is Liam Irish? I love this name. It is becoming kind of popular though. Our son's name is Jameson, which depending on how you spell it is Irish or Scottish.

Oh and another girl name is Cianna
Braden is not an Irish name. Braden is an English name and means "wide valley". The name you're thinking of is Br?d?n which does mean salmon but is pronounced differently to Braden.

My new goddaughter is named Aislinn (pronounced Ashlynn) ...and her sisters are Meghan, Shannon & Kiera. Both parents are Irish with an O' last name.
We always loved the name Siobhan, but didn't end up using it.
Thought those were cute : )
As far as boys go, I really love the name Declan....There is a sweet little boy who is 6, who I associate this name with.
My kids names are pretty trendy and normal but I still ike them all the same...Delaney, Kevin & Rory...and out last name starts with Mc.
Good luck choosing and congrats!
