Parenting after a Loss

2u2 or 2=2 or 2+2 or, oh boy......!

Just starting the "when do we start trying again" conversation with DH now that AF has arrived again (#3).  I am on 45ish day cycles - so that means we have a chance about every other month.  It seems way too soon still!!!

But I want Addy to have a playmate and friend, not a brother/sister she will babysit.  Plus, I don't want to wait too long in case we experience another m/c.  I will be 33 turning 34 - so getting up there in the medical years anyways.  I don't want to wait that long anyways - if we have another girl - we may try one more time for a boy.  That being said, I love just having Addy.  It is fun just focusing on her and I am scared of losing that.

Now we are trying to decide if next month is right for an April baby, or wait for a June baby, or for an August baby....etc.  This family planning is hard!

I think I will be drinking the PAL water soon......ready or not.  :-)

  • You totally faked me out - I thought this was a BFP post!

  • I know what you mean about not wanting to take time or attention away from your LO.  It's actually not that much harder going from one to two, luckily!!  I might have had it easier because Ri was 3 when we had Logan, but she was SO excited, and not jealous at all like I thought she might be.

It's all about finding a good balance between the two :)

  • Good luck!  I thought this was going to be a BFP too.
