Thanks for the link.  The coworker went home when she saw how pissed we all were.  I dunno, from what I've read online the contagion factor goes away about 10 days after symptoms begin, but if she didn't have viral meningitis anymore I'm not sure how her doctor could have diagnosed her.

I told my supervisor about it and he was pissed - his wife is pregnant.  I am seriously considering bringing it up to coworker's supervisor as well (his wife is also pregnant, haha).  WDYT?  Our company has a terrible history of people coming in to work sick - one person (who shared a desk, and a phone with another) actually came to work with strep throat once, then cooked lunch for the company.  Zip it!

    She should not be allowed to return until she has a letter from a doctor saying she is not contagious to others. That's ridiculous. It's like the girl who came into work with open shingles sores when I was 5 months pregnant with Tristan. I took my boss aside and said, "OK, look. I'm 20 weeks pregnant. Either she leaves or I do." He made her leave and then HR told her she couldn't come back until her sores were healed.

    I don't mean to butt in but Viral Meningitis is not the bad meningitis. The one you should be worried about is Bacterial. I work in a hospital and got exposed to viral all the time while pregnant..obviously before knowing the person had it. BUT  I would def let anyone who is pregnant know just to be safe.
