If you started the switch to whole milk!

So today was the first time I've mixed whole milk in with DD's formula....1/2 and 1/2.  She had lots of gas and diarreah twice.  Did this happen to your LO?  Should I put less whole milk in?  Never had this issue with DS.  Thanks for any help!

  • I'd put a little less in.  Has she had yogurt before?  It's dairy but processed differently so it's easier on their tummies.  Maybe try introducing that a little if you haven't.

I just started today also and no issues except stupid me got a gallon of skim milk and had to go out and get whole milk before I could start-all the gallons of Horizon Organic look the same.  Now I know why they color code milk-LOL!

  • I started with much less than 1/2.  Try putting in only 1 or 2 ounces with formula and see how she does.  It took us 3 weeks to get him 100% on whole milk.

  • Transitioning is definitely different from pedi to pedi. Ours said to mix formula and whole milk. We did 3/4 formula and 1/4 milk and took it a few days at a time. We had a bit of throwing up in the beginning (no spit-up for a couple months). He's doing a lot better now (we're completely transitioned), but we have a tiny bit of spit-up every couple days.
