Natural Birth

If you've had a LEEP, come in!

My LEEP was just two months before conception (10/2009).  Thankfully, my cervical length is great and I've made it this far!

Now my concern has jumped to my ability to dilate.  Has anyone else added their wishes if this becomes the case to their birth plan?

  • More info is needed here, I think.....I'll be giving birth in a hospital.  It wasn't my first choice, but options here are very limited.  And due to my recent cervical surgery, I decided staying with my OB was the way to go.  She's been excellent up to this point and very interested in my birthplan...so I want to make sure I have everything covered!

  • I've actually had 3 LEEPs over the years - the last of which was also about 2 months before conception.  (DH says I was "roto-rootered," which helped his swimmers get the job done.  Men.)   So yes, I am terrified that this will be my downfall.   This is one of the primary reasons I am delivering in a hospital (even though I HATE that I have to do that.)  I'm just making a list of realistic things that could go wrong in my situation so I am mentally prepared for the possibility.  I'm going to discuss each one with my OB, write my birth plan, then put the list away and assume none of those things will happen  :)   GL!

  • My LEEP was approximately 4 years ago. I am delivering at home with a midwife. We will be starting vaginal and oral evening primrose oil in about 2 weeks to help break up any scar tissue that may be there from the procedure and help promote dilation.
