anybody ever make a pinata?

I want to make a pinata, but not a round one. I know traditionally you blow up a balloon and cover it.  If I want a cylinder, could I use a glass bottle (wine)?  Would the dry, finished product slide off?

    what about a box if I cover it with saran wrap?  would the wrap come out if I left one side un-covered?

    I want to make a train engine.

    We made pinatas every year in high school spanish.  One year I made a tootsie roll and I think I just took cardboard or poster board and rolled it into a cylinder.  I don't remember if I put saran wrap or anything on it, but that would make sense. 
    It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

    I think it will dry to the bottle and you won't be able to get it out.  Go to the grocery or party store and find a mylar balloon in the shape you need.  People will be so impressed.  :)
