Hawaii Babies

f/u to STTN...

Last night the boys had their final bottle at 10.30pm and were asleep by 11.30pm. I was pretty excited because they've been going for 7-8 hours between feeds at night, so I was hoping that with this timing we could make it to 6.30am or so...but instead, I woke up to both of them screaming at 4.30am. I went in to feed them and they only drank about 2/3 of their bottles - they weren't even hungry, they just wanted to play! Little turds...

Anyone else have a late night party animal? Tongue Tied

Re: f/u to STTN...

  • I'm not sure if you would call this late night or early but my little man wakes up as soon as the sun starts coming out, which is WAY early for me... 4:45am. Then i have to rock him back to sleep every half an hour until I give up around six. I'm naturally a night owl so this is torture for me!

I just did something bad, I lined the back of his curtains with tin foil. I know this sounds really white trash but you can't see it from the outside because of the blinds and you can't tell from the inside either. I'm desperate!!!

I agree! You do what works, ya know? Yes

  • Yuck! Just think, one day, when they're 16, you will get revenge and will sit at the foot of their bed and wail at the top of your lungs.

Also, Julie, have you seen this?:

do what works!  people in AZ always seemed overly concerned about what can be in your windows.  I know tin foil is not ideal, and pretty commonly banned in HOAs but I once got a letter from the condo assoc. when I lived in AZ for having a vase in the window - it was white blinds ONLY. haha. (same place also sent me a letter for leaving my bike on the balcony w/in 3 ft. of the rail).   Apparently 3ft, 1in is less of an eyesore?!

  • for us it varies...sometimes she'll sleep well and other times she just wants to be up.  more so when i put her to bed earlier than usual.  the other night i put her to bed at 8pm b/c she was so tired and didn't nap well and we were up "partying" from 1-3am b/c she wasn't used to going to bed so early!  it's more common for me to find variance in the early morning though...sometimes she'll get up around 5-6am and go right back to sleep after nursing and then other times she'll be up for 2 hrs before going back to sleep.

I have seen some mamas use black trash bags too - whatever works!

  • HOA? Housing something Association?

Who are they and why are they being window nazis?

    Home Owners Association.

A HOA is like the Body Corporate that you get here when you live in a unit. But HOAs there often look after entire housing developments. Some are relaxed and pretty much only go after people if they've totally trashed their house (front yard is a jungle, they have 6 cars on blocks in the driveway, rubbish everywhere, that kind of thing), while others have irrationally strict limits on stuff like how long you can have your rubbish bin by the curb, how short your grass has to be, no garden gnomes or lawn ornaments, paint can only be a certain color, certain items can't be visible from the street, etc etc etc.
