oh i have my own confession about driving a stick. DH taught my how to drive a stick a few years ago and the road near our house had a light on the top of the hill and whenever i had to stop at the light i would try to put in in first and go when the light turned green but i usually rolled back and bumped other cars! No major damage was ever done i told DH i just prefer an automatic : )
I bought a stick shift car brand new and my DH had to drive it home from the dealership. He then taught me how to drive it. I hated it and traded it in 5 months later. I lost 2k and I always say it was the best 2k I ever spent It was horrible to drive and it's just too much thinking... and I work int he city. Tons of traffic.
Awww hehe, I think that's pretty common! My parents wouldn't let me learn in anything but a stick, and my first 3 cars were all 5 speeds. I'm happy w/ an auto now, but did enjoy the 'control' of a stick, but it blew in traffic!
Re: Confession
Me too!! lol
Never learned, never plan on learning.
I really can't think of a scenario where I'd HAVE to drive someone else's car, so I'm not really worried about it.
