  I don't keep track, but our parents haven't given him tons of stuff, so I just know who has given him what for the most part.

  I don't really keep track, but I do know what outfits MIL and SIL get DD. They don't buy her much, so it is pretty easy(maybe 4 or 5 outfits so far). I try to put her in them when we go over there, mainly because my MIL sounds like yours....I'm sorry you're dealing with this!

  I somehow remember who gives each of the kids clothes. I don't know how I do it because they each have gig wardrobes, but for some reason it stands out in my mind.  I don't do it intetionally though nor do I see a real purpose for it.  If you really want to impress MIL jjust mark her initials on the inside tag of the outfit (this is what  I do with hand me downs).  This way you can be sure DD is wearing one of those outfits when you're with MIL.

  I think I might have to start writing down what she gives L.  She does a lot of shopping at garage sales - so to be honest that's why I have no idea what she has given us because it's bits & pieces of outfits (pair of jeans, random t-shirt, some pjs, etc).  I'll just have to keep better track of it; and pick my battles...

  For some reason I remember what my mom and sister has given her.  Also she has a lot of hand me downs from my sister/niece but those are easy because they are 9 years old and styles/tags have changed. 

  MIL has given her exactly zero items of clothing.  All my inlaws have given her was $20 for christmas and another $20 for easter.

  My MIL inlaw is like this and I normally pick one outfit and mark it mentally to have next time we see MIL...

  The funny thing is when LO was first born MIL gave us the ugliest clothes so I would put one on LO, take a picture then put it in the goodwill pile.  Then one day she gave teh clothes to DH and he told his mom that LO does not wear clothes like that, they were old fashioned!  I would have died if I would have been there.  But ever since MIL buys cute modern clothes...

  I usually remember who bought her what for some reason.  My mom once made a comment that LO never wears anything she bought her, which she has purchased probably 80% of Leah's clothes so I think she forgets what she did and didn't buy, so now I try to put LO in something she bought if I know we will be seeing her..and I actually try to do this for other people too every once in a while so they know we appreciate it.
