Diet/calorie tracking websites?

I'm looking to find a website where I can login and track/log my calories and activity for the day.  I'm open to free sites or ones with a minimal fee.  I just want it to be quick/easy to use.

Thanks!

Re: Diet/calorie tracking websites?

  • I lost 40 pounds using SparkPeople.com.

I still use it to log what I'm eating so I can pay attention to how many carbs, proteins, etc. I am getting in my diet.

I love that the site is free, they have message boards and groups of all sorts for you to get encouragement, and you can follow their meal plans or just input your own food.

  • Great, thanks!  How did you log something when you ate out?  Did you just kind of guess?
  • Most websites for food places (if it is a chain) have their nutritional info listed. If not, I'd just input as simply as I could (ex. 1 slice of cheese pizza) and use the generic calorie count they would input for that.

  • I used Sparkpeople, also.  Between that and 30DS, I lost about 15 pounds in 5 weeks.  As far as restaurant meals, many of them are already entered.  Of course, they are submitted by other users, so it depends on whether you trust the accuracy of the info.  Many chain restaurants will have nutrition info on their websites so you can just key it into sparkpeople.  Even though there are tons of foods preloaded on Sparkpeople, I did find that I ate the same foods over and over, in different combinations, since they were already in my history.  Saved me time looking them up and/or keying them in.

They other eye-opening thing Sparkpeople did for me was make me realize how many calories I added to my diet every day just by taking bites off my kids' plates or finishing their dinner to avoid being "wasteful."  I counted every bite of food I took, and once i realized how it added up and therefore stopped doing it, the pounds fell off.

  • I second sparkpeople.com. Also, fitday.com is good.

  • Sparkpeople for sure - lost 15 pounds before the floods.  Need to do that again, plus another 15.    I'll probably reactivate my account next week :)  Look me up - same username...
