... on the day of your missed period, and then gotten a positive later?
Just curious... my period is NEVER late, like literally to the hour. It should have been here this morning but all I've had is the tiniest bit of spotting on some toilet paper earlier today. BUT, I had a negative HPT this morning. I keep expecting my period, but so far nothing. Can't decide if I should hold out some hope that I might still be pregnant!
Oh, and it wasn't a cheap HPT either; it was an expensive e.p.t. one that said very clearly "Not pregnant"...
Re: How many of you have had a neg HPT...
1st tri would be a better board to ask this on.

This.
And cheap HPTs are usually more sensitive than digitals, so you could get a BFP on a cheapie before a digital.
unfortunatly even the most regular people have off cycles. I'd bet you ovulated later than normal. Test 1x/week until BFP or your period shows

It is a possibility since I am not charting this time around, but when I was charting I always ovulated on day 16 and actually get ovulation pain every month... which is why I stopped charting and why I'm pretty sure that it was not any different this month. Although still a possibility.

Thanks, yes, I have read that book and did chart religiously before conceiving my daughter. This time around I just don't feel like doing it, mostly because I always get ovulation pain and figure that is as good an indicator as anything... (and no having to take my temp every morning).
Mostly I'm just curious how common a false negative might be on the day of a missed period.
Well, in about 36 cycles I have never O'd later than CD 15. ?Last month was CD 16 and this month was CD18, so its a good?possibility.
?Plus ovulation pain can occur several days before you actually O. Also, by now, you just think you know what it feels like so you assume that something that is not O related at all is. ?KWIM? ?
The one time I got a positive it was before my missed period. But if that's what you're mostly curious about, as PP said, it's probably a better question for first tri. GL!

I got a negative HPT on 12 DPO and a positive on 15DPO.
However, you could have also O'd late
True, you are absolutely right. That's interesting about your cycles. I'm just assuming that everything is as I think it is. Obviously I'll just have to wait and see, but this is just so unusual for me that I'm like, wait a second, what's going on. Time will tell, I guess!
OMG I cannot tell you how much hope this gives me. I feel like most of the BFPs on this board come at 9 - 12 DPO. I just got a negative Sunday, and I've been trying to kill my hopes, but maybe there is still a chance . . .
I got a neg at 14 and 21 DPO with my DS. I finally got a light positive at 31 dpo.
ETA: I was charting and only had sex once that month (the day of ovulation) so I know for sure how many DPO I was.
