rec your toy organizer/shelving/bins

I don't really know what to get my twins for their 1st bday other than some new toys & clothes (my mom is getting them everyday chairs from PBK) and thought it was time for a toy organizer in the playroom anyway, so I wanted to look around for some ideas!

I do like the colorful bins that sit on the wooden rails or whatever but also looking for other ideas that are kid friendly esp in the way that when they're older they could easily put toys away (I love the look of baskets on shelves & stuff but not sure it is realistic to keep really neat?)

Thanks!

  • Are you near an Ikea?  We have some pieces from their Trofast line and I love it.  We have this one in her play area.

We put blocks, duplos, and her train set in the bins.

We also have a small piece of furniture that used to hold our DVDs.  It has 12 little cubbies and I put one toy in each cubby.  She has more toys than that, but I rotate them to keep us all from being overwhelmed.

  • We have these and a few other things from Ikea to store his toys in. I totally think you could use baskets on shelves to keep toys neat when your LOs are older, especially if you found some where you could put a photo on of the toys that are supposed to belong in there so they know what goes where.
  • We use this cubby thing from Target.
