My DD will be 6 weeks old tomorrow and she's been taking 3.5 - 5 oz. per feeding since 4 weeks old. She takes anywhere between 27 - 30 oz. total per 24 hour period.

My DD ate anywhere from 3-5oz of formula per feeding depending on how hungry she was. She actually had a growth spurt during that time so the 5oz conspumption was closer to the 6 weeks.
It depends more on how often they are eating and how much they weigh, rather than how old they are. We use the formula of 2 to 2 1/2 oz per pound of body weight in a 24 hour period.
For example of your LO is 10 pounds, they should eat 20-25 oz of formula in a 24 hour period. If the LO is eating every 3 hours, taking 8 bottles a day, then you should be giving about 3 oz per feeding.
This is what we were told in the NICU and by our pedi. Since our LO's are preemies we were doing 3 oz per pound at first, but have dropped to the 2 to 2 1/2 oz per pound as they are approaching their due date.

my DD is 6weeks 4 days. this exactly. I pump and fill all bottles to 4oz bc thats what she usually takes at once
Up until yesterday he was taking 4 oz every 2-4 hours, but would also sleep 5-6 hrs at night then wake up for a bottle then go back to sleep for 3ish hours, I think he's going threw his 6 week growth spurt because he's been taking 6 oz every 3-4 hours, but sleeping 7 hours at night then waking up taking 6 oz then going to sleep for another 2 hours.
