Real Contractions?

Im sure it has been asked a million times but I think I had real contrax last night. They felt like period like cramps with tightening down low. It wasnt like BH where it is all over and not painful. This morning I am sore down there with period like cramps. Does this sound like the real thing? TIA!

    Could be!  I would start timing them if you can.  If they start to get stronger and in somewhat of a pattern I would say its the real thing.  Good Luck!!

     (btw today is my birthday...such a great day to have a baby:)

    yup. that's sounds like the real thing.  don't get your hopes up just yet though.  I had contrax like that for 3 weeks before DD came.  I'd have an hour or two (sometimes more) of steady, crampy like contrax almost every night until 41.5 weeks.

    They might mean labor is soon for you or they might mean that your body is just getting ready (they will help to dialate and efface your cervix).  Once you're "really" in labor though, they will start to get MUCH stronger.

    I hope its sooner rather than later for you!

    Sure does! But, sometimes you will have those for days or even weeks before the baby arrives. I had those for 6 days straight before I went into labor at 39w 4d. Start timing them. If they start lasting a minute long and are 4-5 min apart, you are in real labor. GL!
