prayers needed
...for my cousin Kara and her son Evan Riley. Evan was breech at birth and came out very fast. He's now on a ventilator to breathe and does not seem to have any brain activity. 
Doctors do not expect him to live more than 24hrs. We need a miracle. Any prayers you've got, we'd sure appreciate. Thank you girls.
I don't really understand any of it, don't doctors know when a baby is breech? She was full term (40w) and from what I know, there wasn't any cord wrap and the baby was super active her entire pregnancy.

TTC #2 for a million years: SA normal, CD 23 bloodwork shows nothing amiss, ovulation detected. Next step: ? maybe CD3 bloodwork to check eggs? All out of pocket, so limited IF tests/treatments.

To answer your question. I think that sometimes they don't know if a baby is breech. I think it's weird in this day and age that they don't do a quick u/s on your way into L&D to see. My friend was in labor for over 12 hours, given pitocin to speed things up, and finally they realized her baby was breech and they did a c-section. So yeah, I dont' know why they wouldn't know. I also dont' know why being born breech would cause those problems.
Keep us posted... I hope things turn around by some miracle.
Kara and her brother are friends of mine as well. I went to HS with them. I think what happened is that she went into labor so quick that they didnt have a chance to even get to the hospital. Her brother said a foot was delivered before she even left the house (via ambulance). I think that he must have been w/o oxygen?
I am praying for little Evan and for Kara and her family. They have wanted this little guy for so long! Life is not fair sometimes...
