At Kayden's 6 month appt our pedi said we could start giving him baby yogurt. We get the Gerber kind that is on the shelf with the other baby food and he loves it. I give it to him a 2 or 3 times a week.
Mine said after all the fruits, veggies, cereals and meats that are appropriate up until 8 months and finger foods after that. We just started oatmeal on saturday and will only introduce two new foods a week so we won't get there for a while
BFP #1: 3/28/09: DD born 12/11/09
BFP #2: 11/16/11: M/C at 7 weeks
BFP #3: 03/24/12: C/P 03/28/12
BFP #4: 04/26/12: please be our baby
we started around 7.5 months or so. i thought there was an issue with starting dairy before one year. evidently there is a possible sensitivity to lactose but yogurt does not have lactose. so we went ahead with it and he loves it.

LO #2 - TTC 7 months, surprise spontaneous BFP!
I gave DD yogurt for the first time last night (plain, full fat, whole milk). The pedi recommended it to help with her thrush. She developed thrush after being on 2 rounds of amoxicillin in one month.
She absolutely loved it. I think she like the cold, thick creaminess (sp?) of it.

This is what our doc said as well. He is a big proponent of feeding baby what you are eating, and, for the most part, skipping baby food.
