We love Avent and so does baby! We BF, but I'm sure they'd be great for FF also. They have an anti-colic valve built in to the nipple which lets the bubbles into the bottle as he drinks and there's very few parts to wash.
I love the Playtex Drop In bottles. So easy! No little parts to clean all the time. Just the nipples and the bottle "shell" when necessary. The liners are recyclable so I feel better about that.
DD is BF and we use Dr. Brown's for when my husband feeds her. We tried two others, Tommee Tippee and Breastflow, and Harper didn't really like either. She was spitting up a lot with those two bottles and seemed to be drinking the milk entirely too fast even with the stage 1 nipples. Once we switched to Dr. Brown's, she seemed to have a lot less gas, took longer to eat, and didn't spit up as much.
The one downside to Dr. Brown's is all the little parts to clean, but it really doesn't take too much longer and it is definitely worth it to have DD suffer from less gas.
I BF and just started bottlefeeding DD, we use the VentAire by Playtex and absolutely LOVE them. DD took it immediately also, which made switching from breast to bottle super easy. HTH.
We started with Born Free, which I love and recommend, but I hated cleaning all the parts. We switched to the Dropins and I'm so glad we did. All I have to clean each time is the nipple, and you just have to buy extra nipples instead of extra bottles (we have 2 bottles, 5 nipples, and it's plenty). I'd toss the others except I paid so darn much for them.
We've had great success with tommee tippee. I started out BFing but bc of low supply I had to supplement and we never had any nipple confusion with the tommee tippee's. We tried Dr Brown's but DD didn't do well with them.
I have Avent and just got the "Soothie" bottles. We haven't tried the Soothie yet, but she likes the Avent ones. I've used them with BM and F.
Just make sure whenever you get bottles you check and make sure you get the slowest flow from the nipple. Otherwise DC will get more milk than he can swallow and you'll end up with a big mess!

Another vote for Avent.
DD didn't like Tommee Tippee or Dr. Browns and the NUK bottles were terrible. Avent has worked the best.
