Diaper changing question

Hey ladies. Charlotte screams everytime we change her diaper. I know that taking her clothes off probably really ticks her off and I checked for a diaper rash but I don't see anything. As soon as her diaper is changed she is fine. Could there be a rash I am missing? ?

(Sorry if this sounds like the dumbest question but I am so new to this its sad!!)

Oh, if she does have a diaper rash, when is it okay to use anything? She is only a week old (I have her first Dr. appt tomorrow so I will save you from all of the other questions I have!)

    Not sure if you can be missing anything...but it should be fine to use a diaper rash cream now. DS got one when he was leaving the NICU and I had to start using butt paste when he was only a week old.

    My son still cries when I change his diaper, ah well.  I know if his tummy is full, he doesn't cry as much.  I also wanted to say congrats!  She's beautiful!

    At that young, she probably just doesn't like being bothered and naked.

    DS screams for most diaper changes as well but so far I haven't noticed a rash. He stops once he is changed as well. I just think he hates getting changed!

    DD screams bloody murder every time we change her diaper or clothes. It's normal.?

    I also use a&d ointment with every diaper change. ?

    Oh, congrats!  She's beautiful!!

    Zach is almost 2 weeks old and he cries a good chunk of the time when he gets changed.  He also balls his legs up, so it's almost impossible to get the diaper change done quickly!

    It's probably just the cooler air that she feels when you take the diaper off.  She is still adjusting to all this new stuff going on around her.
