LO keep scratching her face at night. She can pull off her mittens so I have socks on her hands now. I hate leaving socks on her hands and really want to cut her nails. Anyone attempt this? Any advice? Thanks
I bite them while he's nursing and file sharp edges as needed. I can't keep him still enough to cut them, even when he's sleeping he pulls his hand away.
It took 3 1/2 long years, but we finally got our little miracle!

When DS is sleeping it's very easy. Sometimes I'll have big brother entertain him while I clip them, but if he starts getting too excited and moving all around then we have to take a break! Sleeping is definately the best time IMO!
We cut our guys nails too. We tried filing them when we first got home from the hospital but it would've taken forever so we clip them with baby clippers. We do it when he's eating or just passed out from a feed.
Our pedi told us not to clip LO's nails because the nails are attatched to the nail bed itself. She told us to file only, even though it's a pain the the a$$.

Re: Anyone attempt to cut LO's fingernails?
go slow. make sure you are cutting nail and not skin. Pedi also said that mom biting them is a good way too

Biting them like PP suggested is good. or use a file.
I first started cutting LO's nails when he would nurse. Now I can do it anytime. It's easier for you (IMO) if LO is nursing or sleeping.

THIS!! I just cut O nails for the first time. It wasn't as bad as I thought.
I've been cutting DS' since 1wk old. I do it while I'm nursing and pretty much have to keep up with them e/o day they grow so fast.
