When did you tell:
- immediate family and closest friends?
- the rest of your family and friends?
I'm interested in hearing if you told people immediately after BFP, waited til after the 1st appt, waited til your 2nd appt, etc.
I'm 11 weeks 4 days right now. DH and I told a few people right after the BFP, before our 1st appt. We plan on announcing it to immediate family on Fathers' Day, when I'll be almost 13 weeks. We've had 1 appt. Our next appt isn't til 14 weeks and I don't think I can wait til then to tell people. It's been so hard NOT telling people.
Re: Nonclicky poll: When did you tell?
Immediate family (parents and siblings): 6 weeks
Everyone else: 12 weeks
I took my test before my period was even due ( I thought I was late haha). I walked out, told my hubby, hugged, cried, and then texted/called anyone that would listen. lol
There was no way I could have gone w/o telling my family.
I told my mom and my sister right away. We told Mr Techie's immediate family after 6 weeks.
We were okay with telling the rest of the world after the NT scan results came back which was 13 weeks.
Very close family and friends one day after BFP.
Other family and friends after my first appointment (which was only 3 days after BFP)
Everyone else, whenever I had a good opportunity!
Immediate family and closest friends? 8 weeks after we saw the HB
The rest of your family and friends? 13 weeks, after we heard the HB
It's sad but part of me wishes I could take the last one back. There's been drama already. Blech.

Everyone else aka FB @ 12 weeks.
- immediate family and closest friends?
they all knew about the IVF, and found out the day of beta
- the rest of your family and friends?
told in spurts between our NT at 12w2d and 13w4d.
Came out on facebook at 13w4d, after everyone we personally wanted to tell was told.

His parents: 7.5 weeks after our first u/s went well.

That's it so far, unless you count my dentist!
If today's NT goes well, we'll tell our siblings and good friends, and I'll start thinking about how to tell big boss lady....

Immediate Family/Closest Friends - a week or two after BFP
Rest of the Family - 12 weeks
FB announcement - almost 15 weeks
Immediate family: 7.5 weeks (day after BFP)
Starting at 8.5 weeks it started slipping out to close friends and extended family. It was our wedding weekend and it was hard not to tell those people in person. Especially because I wasn't drinking at my own wedding!
FB: 10 weeks (after we heard the heartbeat)
same day I found out
not going to post it on facebook...ever...too public
I told my 2 best friends the night I got my BFP. I had to tell SOMEONE (besides DH)!
I told my coworkers (who are also good friends) around 8 weeks. I wasn't supposed to, but it sort of slipped.
We told DD the weekend after I turned 12 weeks. Then she helped us tell my parents, my brothers, and my MIL and SIL during that week (so between 12 and 13 weeks).
My boss and most of my other coworkers found out when I was 13 weeks.
I just "announced" (sort of--we just moved so I posted pics of our new place on FB and in the kitchen there was a bun in the oven, and then the last pic is of the 3rd bedroom door with a sign saying, "This room is reserved for BABY coming in December 2010!") on Facebook. I was 15 weeks yesterday and had an appointment--then after seeing everything was OK I decided to share the news.
It was hard to hold on to the news for 15 weeks, but I'm glad I waited until my appointment yesterday to get the word out.
We told immediate family at 11 weeks.
We are starting to tell everyone else this week.
You are right, it's hard not telling people but I really wanted to wait until after our first u/s to tell anyone.
immediate: 9 weeks, Mother's Day
the rest: still in the process!
Exactly this.
At six week, I had already had two ultrasounds and saw the heart beat so we told parents and siblings.
We told everyone else at my NT scan at 12w3d.
I told 2 co-workers that day because they are the ones who told me I had to be pregnant when i started crying cause someone didnt say hello to me. (so not like me) it turned out i was 7 weeks pregnant. I told my mom and sister that night as well. my inlaws we were going to tell on easter but decided to do it a day before because my sister in law had just had a miscarriage and we didnt want her to feel weird with the announcement. Rest of the family found out from word of mouth.
now mostly everyone knows since I cant shut up about it
Immediate Family only after first trimester. Everyone else after amnio results.
I will tell work when I am in labor in the middle of my cubicle (I WISH!) Seriously, I will tell work when I can't hide it anymore, hopefully close to 5 mos.
Best friends who knew our TTC journey - about 30 minutes after I POAS
Family, friends - 8 weeks, on Mother's Day
