Learned this is childbirth class, do you all do this?

I always thought you just use normal baby wipes from day 1, but in class, was told you use a cloth with water only for first few weeks...true?

I used wipes (pampers sensitive) from day one. I do use a cloth with water though if Ds has a diaper rash.

They gave us sensitive wipes in the hospital. Been using them since day 1.

In the hospital, one of the nurses told us wipes are fine from day 1 - she said that they use the washclothes in the hospital because it's (gasp) cheaper.?

Nope. The nurses used pampers sensitive wipes and when we got home and ran out of them, we use huggies sensitive wipes.

did this from day 1 and still do. I use unscented hypoallergenic wipes ocassionally.

True for us. Although I have to say we don't use store bought wipes at all. I bought a pack of cheap Gerber wash clothes and use those to wipe DD. They give you a giant stack of those throw away wipes at the hospital. Try to take as many home as possible.

I feel like it's the same as CDing over disposable diapers. Cheaper and less liable to cause diaper rash, but most people (me included) go for the disposables because they're easier.

at the hospital they gave us cloths and water. when we got home we started using pampers sensitive. they dont have alcohol or fragrance.

We weren't told that in classes, but the hospital used disposable cloths with water. With both children, we used those up before going to wipes.

My baby was born premature at 32 weeks and the NICU in Seattle uses Pampers Sensitive and that's all I've used on him since day 1! SO....I think they're safe
