LCB and anyone else who is making their baby bedding

in 2nd Trimester

I have found fabric I love for the nursery, but I have no clue how many yards to buy. I know nothing about fabrics and sewing.

My DH's grandmother is a talented seamstress and will be making it, but I want to get some idea on the amount of fabric we'll need.

LCB- did you buy the fabric or did your mom buy it and do it all?  (I love your colors!)

    My mom did all of the purchasing.  I have no clue about that stuff (yards, etc) and didn't want to ship it to FL if I bought it.

    Do you have a pattern? On the back it will tell you the yardage you need for each thing you make. If you don't have one, you should ask DH's grandmother how much to get, since it depends on the size of the item, and also how many different things she will make.?

    I bought 4 yards each of 3 different fabrics, but I'm not sure exactly how much I'll use.

    I'm only making a skirt, bumper, and possibly valences (unless I have tons left over).

    Your grandmother could probably tell you exactly how much to get

    I don't have a pattern, but I know DH's mom has one, and they sent me the info of about 4 others so I can chose which one I like.  I guess I should look them up and see what they say about how much to get.

    Yeah, I realize now that this post was very vague.  Sorry.  I'll need two crib skirts, two bumpers, curtains and enough to cover the diaper changer.  The pattern is $15.99/yard, so I don't want to buy too much!  Looks like it's Google time.
