A woman in my area was driving on a major interstate when her gas pedal got stuck leaving her traveling at 95 miles per hour. As if that is not scary enough, she had her twin three year olds in the car with her. They played the 911 tape of her crying and telling her children she loved them on the news. It was horrible. Luckily for her, the state police were able to surround her car and get her stopped before she had an accident. I posted a link below to the article.

I just want everyone to please be careful out there as it appears all of the issues with the gas pedals have not been resolved and in this case it was not a Toyota problem.
Re: Please be careful out there: gas pedals not just Toyota issue
Yep, my Dodge Calibur is about to get recalled.
The problem isn't with Toyota, it is with the manufacturer of the gas pedals. Dodge and Toyota (and others) all use the same maufacturer and the same pedals.
One of the worst parts of reading that article was reading the comments people made about that poor woman who was terrified out of her mind with her babies in the car! Just awful the kind of conclusions people jump too... never in my mind would I assume that this woman was a terrible driver or some sort of irresponsible person for calling 911 in that situation... what did people expect her to do, slam into the back of another car??
I am not sure what I would do in that situation, but I can bet I would be on the phone with 911 and trying to get help!
If you read the article, I think they are saying that she reached speeds up to 95 mph once the pedal had gotten stuck. She wasn't initially traveling that fast.
