    if i HAD to choose, i'd choose colt, but i'm not crazy about either.

    here are some suggestions from nymbler:

    ford, bo, lane, zane, carson, parker, keane, newton, reed, taft.

    Carter is a kids' store plus it sounds like Garter.

    Baby Blues had the best cartoon about naming babies once.  How easy is it to yell the name across a field? 

    Colt just doesn't do it.  Now, if you used Colton with Colt as a NN, that would be great. 

    But Colt alone is too hard.

    I'm partial to Carter b/c we're naming one of the twins that. It could be bad in school though -- Carter the Farter. Just sayin'... There's no such thing as the Carter store up here in Canada so I'm good that way.

    I hate Colt alone, Colton is okay though. Carter is okay but I feel I've heard it so much before.

    I like this idea in theory, but have you read Baby Blues? The two younger kids are named Hammie and Wren! Those names do not exactly pass muster for me...
