Ankle socks?

Now that DDs are wearing more shorts, the Old Navy triple roll socks they've been wearing are getting to be more of a pain, particularly since they regularly take off their socks and shoes.  Where can I get plain white ankle socks for 12-24 month size (multi-packs are even better)?

Oh, I'm bothering with socks because daycare likes for them to have them on for extra protection when they are playing outside.

  • I get Evie's ankle socks at Target.

  • I know everyone hates Walmart, but this is the only place I've found ankle socks that stay on. They are the starter brand and come in a big pack for about $6 I think. Don't know if your girls are like Derek but he is a big fan of taking off his shoes and socks, but he hasn't mastered these socks yet.

Gap has really cute ruffle socks and they stay on better than old navy.

    Gap or Gymboree.
  • P love socks.  She won't let me put her shoes on without them.  Yes, even sandals.  At a jumpy bday party last weekend her socks got nasty and I told her she could wear her shoes without the socks and she got mad and insisted on wearing the socks.  Our ankle socks are hand me down and I am not sure where they came from, but they are awesome.
  • I bought DS some white ankle socks at Stride Rite.  I haven't even looked at Target or anywhere else so I have no idea how the price compares, but I like the ones we got at SR.

Thanks All!  I was able to find some at Target.  For some reason they were a little hidden and I hadn't really noticed them before.  I'll try them out and see how they do.  If they fail miserably, I'll work down the list of other suggestions. :-)

  • Kohls has packs of them!  I was looking there yesterday for socks that have the cuff so I could embroider on them and they had lots of them without the cuff fold down.

I love Gymboree ankle socks.  They have a tiny scalloped edge and a small bow.
