cereal in bottle or by spoon?

how are you guys doing the cereal thing?  mixed in the bottle or mixed with a little fluid and fed by spoon?  i always thought you were supposed to do the bottle thing but our pedi's office very distinctly states in all caps on their 4 -6 mos info pamphlet DO NOT MIX CEREAL INTO FEEDER/BOTTLE.  wonder why...  if you do use the bottle, what kind of nipple do you buy?

    I use a spoon. I think the bottle discourages your child learning how to eat properly. Good luck!

    You're not supposed feed cereal in bottles....it causes choking.  It's best to use a spoon.

    The current approach to cereal is that you don't mix it into a bottle unless specified by the pedi for reflux. 

    Babies that can't take cereal by mouth generally aren't ready for cereal.

    This. We were also told that cereal in the bottle is a choking hazard.

    Spoon.  And I mix the cereal with pureed pears or apples.  I don't think that it tastes very good mixed with water or formula or breastmilk.  Or at the least, LO gets bored with the taste of it with formula or breastmilk.
