Does "Hey, Daddy!" and "Daddy door" count as sentences?

Just curious. I always thought they mean a noun and a verb, but wasn't sure.

I don't think so. But it is the first step to full sentences! Being able to string 2 or 3 words together in a meaningful way is a big milestone! Yay!

Oh, I don't really care. It just comes to mind when people ask if he's doing 2 word sentences yet. I never know how to answer.

I think that just counts as "stringing two words" which is a step leading up to sentences. DD says things like "Dad, open door, let's go!" and I would call that a sentence.

Oh, yeah, I would probably say yes to that unless it was my pedi asking. I think they probably just want to know if he's stringing words.

That may be what they mean actually- when kids start stringing 2 words together. the only real sentences I can think DD says are I don't know and I'm sorry.

Not quite. Sounds like your LO is very close, though. That is exactly what Quentin did right before he started talking in sentences. Almost there! : )
