bittersweet--moving out of my condo

We are moving everything out of my condo this weekend because I found someone to rent it.  Definitely glad for the cash flow situation, but it's weird saying goodbye to a place you've had for 8 years--1/4 of  my life!  I definitely have way more stuff that I thought I did--lots of sorting to do!

On the bright side though, I'm really happy with the renters we found and think it's a good situation for both of us.  Plus, I love Todd's house and am glad to have the rest of my furniture here.

Thank goodness for both sets of parents being in town--we ended up moving after the wedding last night and called it quits at 1 a.m.  Hopefully we finish the rest today, but if not we have Monday to do it.

  • I'm sure I don't have to remind you, but remember to rest and take it easy while moving.  I moved at about the same stage in my pregnancy and I know it can be hard to force yourself to take it easy when you just want to get everything done and settled.  Moving while pregnant sucks!

Ditto the taking it easy part!  No one is going to think less of you if you take 15 minutes of every hour on your rear!!! (with feet up, of course)
  • My MIL wouldn't let me lift anything when I was pg.  Too bad you don't have my MIL (LOL!!!)  It did get me out helping DH's sister move.

FWIW, I cried very hard when I took the last load out of my house when I sold it.  It was 7 very good years, but I was still so surprised at my reaction.  I drive by whenever I go back to Detroit and get upset to see what they've done to the landscaping or whatever.
