glucose tolerance test... HELP!

I did my test today. Had some pretty bad side effects - nausea, sweating, fatigue, dizziness, etc. Its been an hour and I'm still not feeling very good. Has anyone had these side effects and not tested positive for gestational diabetes?? I'm worried that this means I have it. HELP!

Most people aren't going to feel very good - it's a super sugary drink! It's ick! Are you doing the 1hr or 3 hr..?? After your waiting period is over, just make sure to eat and you'll feel better.

I felt that way with the 1 hour and just barely failed. I did not feel that way on the 3 hour and passed. Definitely try to eat afterward. They are used to people getting sick on this stuff, so it doesn't really have to mean anything foreboding.

I did the one hour test. I had something to eat and am now feeling better...did you pass or fail?

I had a pretty bad stomach ache afterwards, but once my hour was up and they did the 2nd blood draw I went and picked up some food. I felt better after I ate "real" calories.

i felt like that during the 1st hr of my 3 hr. make sure you eat lots of protein to counteract all of the sugar! oh and drink tons of water!!! feel better!

I felt buzzy and dizzy. Sound slike your having a reaction to the glucose.

Seriously, don't worry about it. Just wait to get your results back. You might be pleasently surprised. My lab allowed me to wait for the results. If you have it, you have it. It's really no bid deal. A pain in the butt (yes). But not the end of the world.

I felt dizzy and lightheaded about 15 minutes after drinking the juice-stuff. Got my blood drawn and went to McDonalds for a breakfast sandwich. The food helped a little bit but I was still shaky and lightheaded most of the day. I crashed at around 4pm and took a long (like 3 hour) nap. I passed.

I didn't have any symptoms and I failed. There isn't any relation. Just think positive and hopefully you will have good results!
