How do you bathe your baby?

When DD was really little, I used an infant tub. That was really hard because she was just a slipperly little mess. A few months ago I started bathing her in her bumbo in the kitchen sink. It works okay, but sometimes there's dishes in there. So I really need another option. She's just starting to sit and the last couple of nights I bathed her in the big tub or the infant tub. I hated it. It was so hard and she was so slippery. Since she can sit a little, I'm wondering what kind of bath thing I should get next. A bath seat? Or maybe this?

I've been bathing her in the big tub, she loves to lay on her tummy and kick her legs and slap the water. However, a friend gave me a duck tub and so I'm going to see how she likes the duck tub. Here's a link:

I either bathe her in the sink, or fill the big bathtub up a couple inches and get in with her. That one is a two person job though, you gotta hand the baby to someone to get out yourself lol.

I still use the tub. the one i have is infant to toddler and while yes sometimes she moves arounf but not as much anymore. DD loves bathtime and knows the routine we wash up frist and then she can have all the play time she wants.

I did buy her tub seat it works pretty well. but latetly ive just been putting her in the regular tub.. granted my LO is a little older then yours but if your infant tub has a toddler side try that... ive never thought of what you posted in the link..

im sure youll come up with whatever works best for you GL!!!

When she was a brand new baby we used this in the kitchen sink

Then we used this in the big bath tub:

and now we're using this until she can sit up better on her own and play in the big tub by herself:

Using this one lets us wash her laying down still and then let her sit up a bit to practice and play in the water before we take her out.

... but we were silly and didn't think about the fact that we have a stand up shower. Hopefully LO doesn't grow too much more (please don't take that out of context, lol) before this lease is up, or else we are screwed!

We shower with her. She's starting to not like it so much.... one of the many reasons I'm demanding a bathtub in whatever place we move to!!!!! Only a month to go.... and then we start moving... but first we have to find a place!

I bathe DD in the sink sitting up (our bathroom is being tiled right now). I put a wash cloth or a burp cloth under her bottom though... MUCH less slippery! She loves sitting up and splashing around.

I bathe DD in the big bath tub with a couple inches of water. She sits up really well and I just lay her on her back to do all the washing. We have a little cushy lining so its not had. But I've been doing this for the past month now. DD loves to splash her legs!

We bathe the two girls together in the big tub. We just put a couple inches of water in. They do get slippery but she sits well enough that I don't have to hold her very much.

the duck tub. Travis can't sit up yet but he lounges back in it and has all his toys within reach. It also saves water b/c you don't have to fill up the big tub!!

DS has taken a bath with me since he was 2 weeks old. It works out great for us. I set him in the bouncy seat while I get in and reach over the tub and grab him and set him in it when I'm getting out.

We are thinking it's time for dad to help though now because ds has figured out how to move around well in his seat even strapped.

We use this in the regular tub and will continue to use it until DD is better at sitting, then she'll be sitting in the tub.

I have such a huge baby (he's 20.4 lbs now and in the 97th percantile for his height) so he outgrew his infant tub by his 4th month. I just take a bath with him. He can now sit up on his own but I'm still very cautious.

My mom used to wash us in a round laundry basket in the big tub once we could sit. She still has it. It's not big enough that LO could fall over, so I may take it from her when DS is too big for the infant tub... which will prob be soon.

When she wasn't sitting on her own, we used a bath sling in the big tub. Now she just sits like a big girl in the big tub. All that other stuff just seems like a PIA.
