If anyone is still early enough to benefit from this, hope it helps!
I was the biggest proponent of the demi/ low panel pants in the beginning. Especially the Gap ones, they just seem to fit so well. Not so much anymore. There's something about the way they attach the band to the pants that does not give at all! It totally cuts me off. Even sizing up (a lot) doesn't help.
So now as I get larger, I much prefer the full panel stretchier pants. The ones that work the best for me are Motherhood and Kohls- they just have so much more give in the hips, even the jeans. I feel like I'm not even wearing work pants in them! They're really better for full-on pregnancy mode.
I guess my lesson is, just buy the stretchier ones to begin with if you don't want to spend a lot. I now have about 4 pairs of Gap pants that I can't wear the remainder of my pregnancy. Live and learn I guess!
Re: Lessons in maternity pants purchasing
I am definitely a fan of the full panel pants especially as I got bigger. They just seemed to give me the support I felt I needed. I did get a pair of maternity capri pants from Kohls that are underbelly. I like them because then I don't feel as hot and I can adjust them without having to adjust the whole panel.
Just thought I would share!
Thanks for the tip, sadly I'm going to have to purchase SOMETHING very soon. I'm rocking the elastic hair tie today and it's just not working well.
I'm afraid the full panel will make me sweaty in the summer though.
Thanks for the info. I gotten really big into comfort lately, and I have only the full panel stretchy pants . . . already.
Totally agree with the full panel. I don't even have a full on bump yet but my other pants definitely don't fit. But the motherhood secret panel pants (in anystyle) are almost too comfortable (so nice!).
I feel asleep in my jean shorts and didn't even notice.

Thank you for posting this! I love the little tidbits of tips and tricks I get from this board.
I''m still just in bloat mode, but this is good to know for later. I'm just rockin' the elastic band on occasion right now. The bra is another story, though- I've really got to do something about it soon. It's so tight that it's starting to make me moody.
I really like both styles.
I needed maternity pants early on and do not like the hassle of the Bella band. The demi/low panel is working out great for me from month 3 to present. When I got the stretchy panel, they kept slipping off of me and I was constantly pulling my pants up all the day... so annoying.
Now the stretchy panels are fitting better, still have to pull up but not as much. I can see how I will be favoring the stretchy panel going forward pretty soon.
So far I have not found one style that last me throughout pregnancy yet. (Unless its yoga style pants)
